Colour Web has big impact. 22.9.06
Once again Something for Kate throw out the challenge of been able to tour a light show that they can chuck into a suitcase and take on tour, much like the tubes where able to do. And with Tim Hall from Resolution X coming to the party this time we where able to achive this.
With 14 panels of new aquired ChromaQ colour web and a fresh hippotizer straight out of the box we had ourselves a very portable rig indeed that was not only extremely compact but also visually stunning to the eyes.

Phaseshift Jetting about 16.8.06
Jet played their first concert in Australia for quite a while and to a packed out Forum Theatre. Phaseshift Productions came to the party supplying a fistful of blinders and a couple of Martin 2K wash units. This should of warned me to take my sunnies to F.O.H but like a fool I didn't.
Bright is an understatement, don't get me wrong I love a good blinder look and occasionally there was some, but in this case it was a little bit too much. It was also a good chance to catch up with Jezza from Phaseshift.

Loreal Colour Trophy 31.07.06
The Loreal Colour Trophy was held at Palms @ Crown this year, and in fine form did the winners receive their awards with 3 x 10k Projectors from Clifton's, Phaseshift supplying extra lighting,as well as another Catalyst System, whatever else that the Palms had on offer and operated by Alex Saad it was going to be a very large visual feast, and big it was. I really have a new found respect for the Catalyst System as it proves to be a very powerful tool its only drawn back is probably that it gives you too many options and footage to start with but that's no real complaint..
Gerling Mix it up 24.07.06
Gerling hit the Mix up stage at Splendor in the Grass and prove that its not just dance music that can get the kids jumping up and down, sometimes it just takes a party attitude and a desire to have fun on stage no matter what that can win a crowd over. These guys just suit the festival scene to the core from ALF the alien jumping around on stage to winning tunes like "Who's ya Daddy" and "Blood on the microphone" it just wouldn't be a festival with out them..

Its Gumboots for SFK..24.07.06
Something For Kate head to Byron Bay for Splendor in the Grass and once again the Led tubes from Phaseshift Productions make another appearance and stand up to the rest of the rig.
SFK hit the Supertop stage on Saturday night and really got the crowd going, with their new album recently released and already #1 the fans really got behind the new tunes as well as a few old favorites.
Sharing the stage with Grinspoon and Sonic Youth and many others over two huge night's.

SFK Live at the Wireless Triple J 12.06.06
Something For Kate played for Triple J's live at the wireless @ the Northcote Social Club and the tubes where out once again to make them look good for radio. A small yet intimate show for a couple of hundred of fans on a Monday evening. And another successful evening for all..
Apparently it will be aired sometime in July of this year so stay tuned.

SFK @ Bass in the Grass 06 28.05.06
Its that time of the year again when all good roadies find a show that warms the body up from the icy climates of Melbourne, and Darwin's "Bass in the Grass" Festival is one of those shows. Situated in the Botanical Gardens in Darwin in the warmth of tropical sunshine. This year its Something For Kate, that have taken me north for the day. With other bands on the list such as Pete Murray, Gerling and the Living End, it was a good chance to catch up with other touring buddies. Without the hassles of being on tour.
Melbourne Stencil Festival 06 27.05.06
After last years event the Melbourne Stencil Festival has come back with yet another fantastic event this time in a much smaller but more user friendly venue the "Rose St Artist Markets" in Fitzroy. The event this year ran for 4 days, featuring demo's from renown Stencil Artists from the USA and Australia holding workshops to show us the in's and outs of this new emerging art form. As well as an exhibition from some of Australia's finest Stencil Artist's. Finishing with an auction of all the works that where on show. Look out for more Shows from these guys..
